As sombras longas, as portas que se abrem, a figura que olha longamente do cimo das escadas ou que simplesmente se detém no pórtico de casa enquanto no seu semblante se sente a crescente tensão.
A pacatez das suas personagens, a delicada vida familiar tão normal, tão igual a tantas outras tão insuspeita, faz com que o crescente de evidencias faça deste filme uma peça brilhante do Film Noir.
Inicia-se com este Shadow of a Doubt e depois de Vertigo e Psyco, uma grande vontade de conhecer mais e melhor a cinematografia deste senhor rechonchudo e com ar bonacheirão, que no fundo tinha uma mente psicopática muito à frente do seu tempo.
